Level 5-8 – Prefix Games

There are two Prefix Games which review and reinforce the 28 prefixes taught in Levels 5-8 of the Barton Reading & Spelling System.

Board Game – Upon each player’s turn the question is asked, “What does this prefix mean?” The player selects an answer from three options. If the correct answer was chosen, the player advances on the playing board.

Matching Game – A game of small, medium or large can be selected depending on the time. The players will match up the prefix picture cards, which include the prefix meaning and the keyword.

Such a fun way to review prefixes. The board game was terrific because of the surprise squares — Jump to #5 etc. My students love to play games. They forget that they are learning at the same time. Great fun!
