Once again Spelling Success scores with another game to reinforce the silent e units taught in the Barton Reading and Spelling System in Level 6. This is great for students who have gone through this lesson and a fantastic review to keep students from forgetting these special units. Janna and her team are such a valuable resource. I had a student come yesterday afternoon for tutoring. She walked in and told me she was in a very bad mood. (She has dyslexia and dysgraphia and had just completed an afternoon of standardized reading assessments having to fill in the small bubbles.) Her prior Barton lesson I introduced Silent-E units. So, yesterday I grabbed the Silent-E Bingo game, we each took two bingo boards and played blackout. We took turns being the “caller” so she got plenty of reading in and her mood quickly turned around. Her mom sent me a note when they got home and said she wasn’t sure what we had done, but her daughter said it was the BEST tutoring day ever! Thanks for creating such an easy option for additional ways to reinforce the material.
